The Guardian hardfork introduces gradual halvings with a smooth transition to fixed inflation and changes the mining algorithm to RandomX.
Guardian Hardfork Inflation Changes:
The Guardian Hardfork ETI would start the 1% long term inflation around 2038 (transition phase). During this period the ratio between mining rewards and research rewards would progressively updated so that when ETI reaches initial supply of 21M ETI the research reward represents 100% of ETI 1% inflation. At this point (Final phase) mining will be stopped and integrality of ETI 1% inflation would go to research rewards.
Improved Inflation Plan:
Initial Phase (2022-2023): 2.1M ETI per year
First ETI Halving (2024-2029): 1.35M ETI per year
Second ETI Halving (2030-2033): 675k ETI per year
Third ETI Halving (2034-2037): 337.5k ETI per year
Transition Phase (2038): Start of 1% annual inflation with ETI mining still maintained
Long-Term Phase (2062): Initial ETI supply reaches 21M. Fixed 1% annual inflation, end of ETI mining, all ETI inflation used for research
Current Inflation Plan:
Initial Phase (2022-2032): 2.1M ETI per year
Long-Term Phase (2032): Initial ETI supply reaches 21M. Fixed 1% annual inflation, end of ETI mining, all ETI inflation used for research
